Our rescheduled field trip to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens will be on Monday, May 5. Students will be attending the Alabama Woodlands Workshop AND, for a special treat the Birmingham Audubon Society will be doing a bird walk with us. Parents are invited to attend. No younger siblings please, as the birding walk requires us to be quiet.
The Birmingham Botanical Gardens has been gracious to us in providing the cost of our transportation and the Birmingham Audubon Society is also volunteering their time. So, there is no cost for this field trip.
Dress comfortably in good walking shoes. Students should wear tennis shoes. We will be outside for this entire field trip. Audubon will be bringing binoculars for the birding for the students only to use that day. If you wish to participate in this with them and have binoculars, please bring your binoculars. Students will eat lunch when they return back to school (leaving around 11:30 for school). Students must ride to and from the Gardens on the bus for this field trip.
We will leave Moody Middle with the 4th graders around 8:15 and pick up the 3rd graders approximately at 8:30 am. Our workshop does not begin until 9:30 so if you wish to meet us at the Gardens, plan to be there before 9:30. If you plan on attending and wish to help me chaperone, please indicate below.
