This blog originally was a continual project of Ms. Fine (now Mrs. Peacock) for her students.  It was a page for day to day resources for her class and parents.   Ongoing, because of her retirement, it will be focused on being more of a resources for parents and their gifted students.

Mrs. Peacock is a graduate of Gardendale High School, Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Masters of Elementary Education, and has received her gifted education certificate through Samford University.  Mrs. Peacock was one of the twenty teacher honorees receiving Teacher of the Year Recognition Program for 2010 in the Birmingham City Schools.  She was also awarded the Alabama Association for Gifted Children Gifted Specialist of the Year 2012.   Mrs. Peacock is a past president of the Alabama Association for Gifted Children and continues to work with the AAGC Board.

She previously taught in Jefferson County(Snow Rogers Elementary – grade 4 teacher), Birmingham City Schools (Charles A. Brown Elementary – Title I Enrichment/Computer), Cleveland Municipal Schools (Cleveland, OH – Grade 4 and 5) and most recently taught 5th grade at Birmingham City Schools, T. R. Wright Elementary and  Birmingham City Schools,based at EPIC.  At her retirement , Mrs. Peacock was the gifted specialist serving grades 3 at Moody Elementary School and grades 4-6 at Moody Middle School.  She will continue as an advocate for gifted children and a resource for parents looking for resources.

Mrs. Peacock is married to Allen Peacock,  has one grown son, Nicholas and daughter-in-law, Christi and a step-son, Luke Peacock.

When she is not blogging, Mrs. Peacock likes to read and travel (and yes – she is a bit of a computer geek:).
